Frequently asked questions

How do subscriptions work?
Crimewave offers an optional subscription that unlocks full features (no watermark, full-resolution exports, unlimited generations). You can also buy one-time credit packs. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iPhone Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Crimewave → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the paid period.

How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and select the purchase. You can also email us and we'll help guide you.

What happens to the photo I upload?
See the Face Data section below — in short, your image is used only to generate your mugshot and is not stored permanently or sold.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Crimewave: Mugshot Maker ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app. By using Crimewave, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we process

• Images you provide: photos you select or capture, which may contain faces, used to generate a stylized mugshot image.
• Purchase information: subscription and in-app purchase status, managed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Basic technical/usage data: anonymous diagnostic and performance data that may be used to keep the app stable. This does not identify you personally.

How we use information

• To generate the mugshot images you request.
• To provide and maintain in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• To fix bugs and improve app reliability.

We do not use your images or data for advertising, profiling, or to train AI models.

Third-party processing

To generate images, your uploaded image is sent to a third-party AI image-processing service solely to create the requested mugshot image. That provider processes the image only to return a result and does not use it for marketing. We never sell your images or personal data to anyone.

Data retention

Uploaded images are processed transiently and are deleted after the mugshot image is generated. We do not keep a permanent copy of user-uploaded face images on our servers. Generated results may be saved on your own device if you choose to save or share them.

Children's privacy

Crimewave is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Face Data / Uploaded Images

Crimewave processes user-uploaded images, which may contain faces, solely to generate stylized mugshot images. Images are sent to our third-party image-processing provider, used only to create the requested image, are not shared with third parties for marketing, are never sold, and are deleted after processing. The app does not perform facial recognition and does not create faceprints, biometric templates, or any identifier used to recognize or track individuals.

• What is collected: a photo containing a face that the user voluntarily provides.
• Purpose: generating the requested mugshot image only.
• Sharing: sent to a third-party AI image-processing service to produce the result; never shared for marketing; never sold.
• Retention: processed transiently and deleted after the image is generated; no permanent server-side copy of uploaded face images.
• Recognition: no facial recognition, no biometric identifiers created.
